About Us

Sherwood Public School was established in 1984 by eminent educationists Mr. Yogendra Kumar Gurwara and Ms. Jyoti Gurwara who have decades of experience teaching in renowned residential schools across India. They drew inspiration from The Mother (Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry) and Jiddu Krishnamurti (Rishi Valley) to fulfill their dream of providing all-round, wholesome education to students.

A full-fledged school offering formal education from Pre-Primary to ICSE (X) & ISC (XII), Sherwood’s large & green 4-acre fully-equipped campus is an oasis of calm between the bustling and fast developing area of Kompally, Secunderabad.

The school offers transport facilities to nearby areas for students of all classes.

Our Philosophy

“School education must be a joyful journey… not a race!”

Sherwood has a highly creative and caring environment that encourages the natural development of children. The stress-free education system helps them inculcate important traits and virtues that will lay a strong foundation for any endeavour they might take up in the future.

Our core mission to empower the child with academic excellence along with all-round development has stood the test of time. Post pandemic, all around the world, there is now a heightened focus on the emotional, social, intellectual, physical and spiritual development of the individual – a philosophy that has always been at the heart of our education ethos.

Testimonials

  • The one parameter I cherish the most when my daughters go to school and come back is “smile”. Everything else is secondary. Sherwood gives me that 5 star rated smile in my children every passing day. I am assured of a well preserved childhood for my children with the right skills and attitude to tackle the world. I am very sure my children will have compassion when they get out from here rather than a competitive bent of mind, which the world eventually pushes you into. But compassion can only be taught at home and school. Their hybrid inclusive model for special children is the most loving quality I cherish. Lucky to have my kids here.

  • This school is amazing if you want to balance your studies and extracurricular activities like sports. It conducts so many sports events and academic events throughout the school year, giving students the chance to advance academically and sportively. The teachers are supportive and teach concepts clearly. If you want to go for an ICSE school or ISC board in the intermediate classes, go for Sherwood Public School.

  • It’s a great place to send your child to study if you want the ICSE syllabus. They just pump in positivity in your child and have a great and huge ground. Great faculty. I have many known children who are studying here. The best part is there is no pressure on the brain! I saw every Sherwoodian as happy as I was during my schooling!
