POST-COVID - An experience on the first day aer COVID 19 PANDEMIC
Masks, sanisers, temperature checks and a long line eager to see each other and have a proper
conversaon with their pals. Instrucons through MCB portal, consent from parents and following the
board norms, we were ready! Yes, we are open! Is it making any sense? Yes! I am wring about my
experience about the day the teachers and the staff were fervently waing for the approach of footsteps
and the whispers of our dear Sherwoodians.
March 10th, 2020 to 1st February 2021. God, it was a really different situaon that the whole world had
witnessed. I felt Sherwood and the Playground was really breathing soly into the air and sending a
soothing vibe that can pep up all the children of IX & X on the first day. On the second day, i.e. 2nd February,
classes XI & XII were welcomed by our beauful campus with colourful balloons - white, blue and red.
Wow! that made the atmosphere sprightly.
Teachers in Sherwood have come a few days earlier but never witnessed the basketball court completely
filled with the children. Some of them grew up so tall. When they entered the premises, a glance at the
playground brought hidden smiles on their faces. The Assembly was conducted maintaining social
distancing, taking the blessing from almighty. The school and the classrooms were ready with complete
fumigaon. Many instrucons were given as in Sherwood, every child’s well-being comes first. Sanisaon,
temperature check was maintained throughout.
Children were reading the posters which were displayed all around the campus which said ‘YES, we are
open’, ‘Maintain 6 distance’, ‘Do not enter if you are sick’, ‘Wash your hands’ and many more were put up.
A really warm welcome was given by the Principal and teachers. We could see the Vibe of HOPE that was
filled everywhere. Even the domesc staff was happy seeing the children, ready to help them and were on
their toes all through the day.
I felt Sherwood was breathing and I was delighted to get back to school.
