Sherwood Interactors in the Groove
The Installaon Ceremony
" Today is another chance to get beer''. On that note we the interactors of Sherwood started off our day.
All of us were prey anxious but also very thrilled. Being a part of the interact club which brought all of us
together for self-development while discovering the power of service above self was in itself a privilege for
us.
We were obliged to have an installaon ceremony where we were given a posion, a responsibility. We felt
much honoured to be able to serve our society by represenng our school. We started the event with a
posive note by praying to the almighty. The installaon of office bearers happened following the four-way
test of the rotary club. The Rotarians were invited to share a few lines. We were all pumped up. I specifically
remember one of the Rotarians sharing and briefing about the poem “IT“ by Rudyard Kipling. It is such a
remarkable poem that depicts exactly how one's approach and personality should be, it was very boosng.
The event ended with the vote of thanks.
By the end of the event, we were all so persuaded to serve our society. It seemed like all the efforts and
work that we all interactors and our beloved teachers put, shined brightly.

Recently, my fellow interactors and I had aended the ‘Mental Health 101’ session that was hosted by a few
Psychology students. The session taught us about mental health issues like depression, anxiety, eang
disorders and more.
It definitely had a very posive influence on me and educated me more than I already was. I see a lot of
people taking mental health casually and that should be stopped. To stop that, the youth of this generaon
must educate people who are not aware of how a serious problem mental health is.
A person might be going through a period of prolonged sadness or depression but people do not care
enough and go ‘she/he is always in a sad mood’ but that is not a ‘sad mood’ which is what people must
understand. That person needs to be heard and must be given therapy by a well experienced psychologist
who can empathize with him/her.
Empathizing with people around should be normal thing, one must put themselves in the shoes of others
and learn to see things from others’ perspecve and must be non-judgmental. One of my future goals is to
normalize mental health and that can be possible only if we share our knowledge with those who are not
as educated about this topic.
I would love to try my best in making the society a safe and non-judgmental place where everyone is
equally heard and their decisions are respected.
