Akalp: I started this in January 2021 and finished it by month end , I have a team of 8
members , technicians , electrical engineers and all , we've been working together since
the last 8-9 years
Sindhura: What are your biggest achievements?
Akalp: I have done more than 48 sculptures and 15-20 of them in Hyderabad , we made a Save
Water themed sculpture , Jurassic Park themed sculpture and I have also worked for the Hyderabad
Zoo . Presently I am working with the A. P Forest department for sculpture-making.
Sindhura: How long have you been in this profession for?
Akalp: It has been 10 years.
Anvitha: How did your journey as an ar�st start?
Akalp: I never knew I wanted to do this , I was first in the field of adver�sing and this sort of just
came to me.
Sindhura: When was the last �me you visited Sherwood?
Akalp: O its been a fairly long �me !! I last visited Sherwood about 10 years back
Sindhura: What was the most valuable thing you learnt from Sherwood?
Akalp: Values. I was in the hostel. I remember waking up early and to brushing my teeth before
sleeping and so much more.
Sindhura: Do you think this genera�on needs more of experien�al learning rather than expec�ng
them to rot learn and work towards stereotypical professions?
Akalp: Yeah definitely , even I don't force my kids for grades , I don't give much importance to
marks, it's your passion that ma�ers. But with online classes now everyone is on phone. Do you like
online classes?
Sindhura and Anvitha: No, we prefer offline classes.
Sindhura: Would you like to give a few mo�va�onal and inspira�onal words for young
Sherwoodians and ar�sts?
Akalp: I would just like to say 'enjoy your present
