A Review of the Book , Astronomy:
When I was a small boy, I got a gi from my neighbor on my Birthday, which was a book named
“Astronomy” wrien by Kristen Lippinco.
I could read it but I never understood the subject because I was just a 5th
standard student but when I reached 10th class, I started reading it again
and I was able to understand what an amazing book it was. I was totally
impressed by reading that book that has 72 pages and 33 Chapters in it.
Each and every chapter has great things about space.
Ex. The Study of heavens.
This is the chapter that tells us:
“What is the meaning of Astronomy- Astron=Star and nemein=naming. It
also explains how the ancient sciensts discovered the stars and named
them - the curling river of stars was called Eridanus and another great river
like hunter was Orion.
Astronomers today have sent a telescope (HST) Hubble Space Telescope onto the earth’s orbit.
There are so many chapters in it- The birth and death of stars, Our Galaxy and Beyond.
I was very curious and filled with joy while I was reading the first chapter. I used to think what content the
next chapter would have and how interesng it would be.
Through this book, we gain knowledge about the stars and we can learn how ancient astronomers named
stars with GREEK leers and what instruments they used to explore the space . There were hundreds of
methods they used to name the stars, and everything is wrien in detail in this book, so I want to
recommend everyone to read this book.
My Rang to this book is 9/10.

Did you know?
1. One day on Venus is longer than one year. Venus has a slow axis rotaon. It takes 243 Earth days to complete its
day. The orbit of Venus around the Sun is 225 Earth- days, making a year on Venus 18 days less than a day on Venus.
2. If two pieces of the same type of metal touch in space they will permanently bind. This incredible fact is also
known as cold welding and it happens because the atoms of two pieces of metal have no way of knowing they are
separate. This doesn’t happen on Earth because of the air and water found between the pieces.
3. There is floang water in space. Astronomers have found a massive water vapor cloud that holds 140 trillion
mes the mass of water in the Earth's Oceans somewhere around 10 billion light-years away – making it the largest
discovery of water ever found.
4. There is a volcano on Mars three mes the size of Everest. At 600 km wide and 21 km high, Olympus Mons is a
volcano on Mars that may sll be acve, according to sciensts. It is the tallest peak on any planet. However, the
Rhea Silvia central peak on the asteroid Vesta is taller at 22 km.
5.Space Junk is any human-made object orbing Earth that no longer serves a useful purpose. Sciensts esmate
there are about 500,000pieces of space junk today, including fragments from rockets and satellites, and everyday
items like spanners dropped during the construcon of the Internaonal Space Staon.
