6. Venus has super-powerful winds. Venus is a planet with a high-temperature, high- pressure
environment on its surface. Ten of the Soviet Union's heavily shielded Venera spacecra lasted only a few
minutes on its surface when they landed there in the 1970s. But even above its surface, the planet has a
bizarre environment.Sciensts have found that its upper winds flow 50 mes faster than the planet's
rotaon. The European Venus Express spacecra (which orbited the planet between 2006 and 2014) tracked the
winds over long periods and detected periodic variaons. It also found that the hurricane force winds appeared to
     be geng stronger over me.

     7. Any free-moving liquid in outer space will form itself into a sphere. This is because of something called surface
tension, which is an imbalance of intermolecular aracve forces. This can also occur in low Earth orbit.

     8. On Venus, it snows metal and rains sulfuric acid. This is because Venus Is Scorching planet choked with sulfuric
acid, which causes the planet’s metals become gas and then liquid in the atmosphere, before raining down to the
ground aer the freezing temperatures turn it into a solid.

     9. Halley’s Comet will pass over Earth again on July 26, 2061. This spacecra is one for kids to look forward to! The
famous comet was last seen on February9, 1986, and only orbits the Earth once every 75 – 76 years.

     10. Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story has been to outer space! Buzz Lightyear spent 15 months onboard the
Internaonal Space Staon and returned to Earth on the 11th of September, 2009. To infinity, and beyond!

                                                                                                        - K.Manoj, X

Summer - The season of sunshine, blue skies and vacaon

The Sun begins to spread its rays, trying to peep into the windows of every house. The lile birds chirp
sweetly in their nests and sound like a melodious alarm. It is a beauful view to see the dew drops on the
fresh green leaves and it feels as though the leaves are ready for another day of joy! Birds go on a morning
tour, racing through fog in the distance.

The buds receive the warmth of the sun and bloom into scenul lovely flowers to welcome their best
friends, the buerflies! The flowers dressed in their colourful costumes in the garden, appear dancing in
rhythm with wind as the music. The clear blue skies seem to stretch their arms to shake hands with the tall
green trees. Regular guests in the sky- the aeroplanes, fly high to reach charming desnaons and clouds
are their best company to travel with.

Nature lovers offer bowls of water and ample amounts of food like grains to the ny souls, the birds, so that
their desire to feed the lile ones is fulfilled. One of the best nature’s beaues lies in the birds’ wonderful
skill of sewing their nests with leaves and twigs perfectly to survive the summer and raise their children
         carefully.

People oen plan road trips or
